Sin World Races

Bugbear

Largest of the goblinoids, these hairy creatures average 7’ tall and have long arms. Preferring to live in the wilderness, they are most commonly bandits. They are known to be strong and fast, but poor company.

Caligni

Preferring subterranean life due to their light sensitivity, these pale gray humanoids tend to be tall and slim. They are most often thieves and spies and prefer an urban lifestyle. Quick and sturdy, they are often slightly less intelligent.

Changeling

These are the female children of hags. Their heterochromia and pale skin mark them as strange, but otherwise they resemble their father’s race until they choose if they will become hags as adults. Most often raised as foundlings, they become aware of their heritage as they become adults. They are clever and pretty, but somewhat frail.

Derro

Often mistaken for duergar, these short people live deep underground. They have a curse that makes them paranoid and obsessed with the surface despite their inability to live there due to their sunlight vulnerability. They have difficulty cooperating, even with each other. Despite their affliction, they are surprisingly charismatic.

Dhampir

The children of vampires and mortal women, these humanoids possess a statuesque beauty. Despite this, they generally live hard lives, often being abandoned as infants. They are quick, but often frail.

Drow

These subterranean elves have skin ranging from dark purple to black. They are known to be manipulative and selfish, especially to the benefit of family. They are dextrous and attractive but somewhat frail.

Duergar

These gray-skinned dwarves live deep underground. They’re a slave culture, often engaging in capture raids, although the duergar themselves are not excluded from this practice. They are sturdy and clever, but poor negotiators, preferring to take what they want by force.

Dworg

These are a hybrid of orcs and duergar. They appear as stocky orcs with unkempt beards. They primarily exist as slaves to one of their parent races. They are strong and sturdy, but not particularly smart.

Gnoll

These bulky hyena people are savage and often cannibalistic. They’ve been known to keep other races as livestock. They are strong and sturdy.

Goblin

These are the smallest of the goblinoids. They are often chaotic and destructive, but their small size and physical weakness means that they are easy pickings for stronger races. They are deft but weak and ugly.

Grendle

Grendles are the offspring of trolls and orcs. They usually hold a place of honor in orc tribes. They are quite tall and have skin ranging from gray to green. Tough and charismatic, they aren’t particularly smart.

Half-gnoll

The product of gnolls and their humanoid slaves, these creatures are looked down upon in gnoll society. They appear as humanoids with thick hyena fur across their arms and backs. Particularly cruel, even for gnolls, they sometimes find themselves kicked out and have to fend for themselves.

Half-goblinoids

Half-goblins are small, quick, sturdy, and ugly. They are most often raised by their human parent and grow up with a feeling of entitlement. Half-hobgoblins are quick and sturdy but uncharismatic. They are most often the product of hobgoblin army breeding campaigns and are very much at home in heavy armor. Half-bugbears are awkward creatures, deft and persuasive, but not particularly wise. They tend to be better company than their bugbear parent, but still struggle with the trappings of civilization.

Half-ogre

Very tall, these bulky creatures rarely have happy origins. They can usually find a place in societies where strength is an asset, although not among ogres. Strong and hardy, they are unfortunately not particularly smart or clever.

Half-orc

These are the offspring of orcs and another humanoid race. They often struggle finding a place in either of their parents’ cultures. Weaker than full orcs, they are often viewed as monsters by their other parent’s community.

Hexbreather

The offspring of orcs and hags, these gaunt creatures are surprisingly strong. Their skin is green and sickly mottled. They tend to stick close to their mother, although some strike out on their own or attempt to usurp their mother. They are strong and intelligent, but not very persuasive.

Hobgoblin

Slightly shorter than the average human, these goblinoids prefer a regimented, militaristic life and often keep other types of goblinoids as slaves. Their skin is gray-green and they have long arms. They are quick and sturdy.

Human

Humans are diverse and adaptable. They can be found in most places in the world, although their social status varies greatly depending on regional politics.

Kobold

These small and weak creatures are extremely proud, considering themselves to be the descendants of dragons. They are small reptilian humanoids that live in underground warren cities. They are dextrous but frail and very weak.

Kuru

These red-eyed humanoid islanders are cannibalistic and file their teeth to points. They otherwise look like humans. They are quick and sturdy but not particularly intelligent.

Male Changeling

The rare male children of hags, they are usually abandoned to die in the wilderness and are found and raised by others who don’t know their heritage. They come in a diverse variety of forms.

Mongrelfolk

Less of a race and more of a mishmash, these creatures share no set body type. Widely shunned due to their ‘deformities’, these creatures can breed with any other race and will always produce more mongrelfolk, although the offspring will share traits with their other parent. They are strong and hardy, but ugly and rather dim.

Murk

The offspring of orcs and troglodytes, these are often the children of slaves taken by either side. They are large and muscular, with green or gray skin and bristly hair. They are strong and clever, but not particularly smart.

Oggr

These are the offspring of ogres and humans. They are big, strong, and sturdy, but not particularly quick. They can usually find a place anywhere strength is valued.

Ogre

These large creatures are known for their excessively tight-knit families and their brutality. They live outside of civilization due to their complete disdain for social mores and taboos. They’re very strong, but mentally deficient.

Orc

Orcs are widely known to be bullies. Very muscular, they have green skin and small tusks. They enjoy battle but leave other work to their slaves. They are very strong but their mental capacity leaves something to be desired.

Orc-blooded Tiefling and variants

While the standard tiefling comes from human stock, there are also ones from the other common races. Orc-blooded tieflings appear as fiendish orcs. They are strong and quick, but rather ugly. Dwarf-blooded tieflings are shorter and stockier than human-blooded tieflings. Elf-blooded tieflings, the descendants of drow, appear as they do but with minor fiendish traits. Small tieflings are most often the children of goblins and closely resemble them. They are small in size.

Skulk

These gaunt humanoids have the ability to change their skin’s color and texture, often using this ability to camouflage themselves. They prefer urban life but mostly stick to back alleys and the underground. Quick and clever, they are not particularly persuasive.

Strix

These black-winged and skinned humanoids hate ground bound humanoids for historical cruelties. Preferring to live in the mountain peaks with the syrinx, they are most active at night. They’re fast but not very charismatic.

Syrinx

These owlish winged humanoids prefer to live in mountain monasteries. Their culture relies heavily on slave labor to allow themselves to turn their lives to contemplation. They tend to be wise but are a bit clumsy.

Tengu

These crow-like humanoids are covered in black feathers and have beaks, though they lack wings. They prefer urban environments, where they can take advantage of their duplicitous nature to prosper. They are deft and clever, but somewhat frail.

Tiefling

These are humans with a touch of fiendish blood. They have various physical markers that set them apart from humanity, such as horns or an unusual skin color. They are viewed as suspicious by any culture they find themselves in. They are quick and smart, but not great at being convincing.

Troglodyte

These scaly, clawed humanoids are known to be brutish, building their society around the right of strength. They often eat other races. Strong and sturdy, they are rather ugly.

Troll-blooded

The descendant of humans with a troll further back in the family tree, these creatures have a savage appearance, with oily, greenish skin, long limbs, and claws. They are rarely accepted in society. They are strong and exceptionally sturdy, but quite ugly.

Vampire

blood-drinkers can come from any race if they are turned by another vampire or by a succubus. Becoming undead comes with both benefits and weaknesses.

Werewolf

These shapeshifters are created when a base race is afflicted by lycanthropy. They gain alternate forms with natural attacks and damage reduction.
