Wayang

Wayangs are small, gaunt humanoids with skin that always looks shaded. They are very philosophical and consider enlightenment to mean becoming one with shadow. They live in small villages in mountain valleys. They were cast out of the realm of Yan for the sin of heresy, exploring the effect of colors. The Wayangs took their banishment mostly in stride, though not without a significant attitude of contrition. Master Shai and her students wasted no time in reestablishing their monastery and their influence in this new land.

This currency takes the form of sutras embroidered in silk. The longer the sutra, the higher the value. 2 wayang paragraphs = 1 standard gold

It is rumoured that one particularly greedy wayang once compiled themself a tome.

Apothecary - Asa maintains a storefront in her mud brick home. She sells potions and medical supplies.

Smith - Seraphina can be heard pounding her anvil from all over town from inside her mud brick and woven grass lean-to.

Tailor - Aya only sells bespoke clothing from her glass-fronted building.

Grocer - Adam is the bazaar judge, so he is paid by the vendors, not the customers. He can be found sampling the goods for quality and settling disputes.

Library - Maya doesn’t maintain a shop but she can be found studying in the monastery library and if approached politely can be commissioned to make wands, scrolls, and wondrous items. She will make appointments for enchantments to be dropped off and picked up at her house.

Monastery - Shai is the master of the monastery and is responsible for the lesson plans of the residents. The monastery also provides food at mealtimes and a guest bunk room for a requested donation. The beds are small.
