Svirfneblin

These creatures bear a close resemblance to gnomes, aside from their gray skin. Humorless beings, they are accustomed to defending their stony warrens from the monsters that share their subterranean home. They were cast out on the realm of Neblinlode for the sin of distraction, valuing their baubles over each other. Upon being banished from their subterranean warrens to the surface of this new world, the svirfneblin sighed wearily and set about the work of learning to survive on the plains. With the leadership of Master Builder Blen, their future looks bright, despite their confidence otherwise.

This currency takes the form of small steel ingots, approximately 4”x1”. Change is provided by cutting the ingot. The shavings are generally left as a tip.

Services

Apothecary - Gabbro sells potions and alchemical items from this tan brick building. He has a small apartment in the basement.

Smith - Diabase loves nothing more than making and inventorying steel billets and is willing to make metal items to fund this obsession. He can be found near the self-billowing forge.

Tailor - Granophyre’s main business is haberdashery, but clothing is available at her glass-fronted shop.

Grocer - Coquina sells produce from the farm she manages. Her moderately large building is geothermally climate controlled.

Magic Shop - Schist can be found in his fieldstone shop reading behind the counter. Wands, rings, staves, rods, scrolls, and other wondrous items can be purchased on request from the immaculately organized cupboards on the back wall behind the counter. Items can be left for enchanting.

Public House - Gneiss runs this out of a largish building on stilts. Food is available during the day on the open ground floor and rooms are open for rent on the upper floor. All beds are small.

City Planning Office - Blen can be found here, making future town maps and overseeing the attached brick factory.
